We’ve hit a new season of life! Camping with Charlie changed the game for us and we didn’t really have a great sleeping option for him. Couple that with three teenagers and our amazing 30’ Airstream simply became too small for a family of 6 plus a golden retriever and two cats. So we’ve moved on to a new brand. 😭 Our Airstreaming days were some of the most magical adventures of our lives. We are no longer nearly as nimble as we once were - but I know our adventures will be just as grand. Today we woke up early and got the house buttoned up to rent for the summer. We parked all of our cars at the farm and hitched up the new beast. I think we’ve named her “White Shadow” - it’s part of scene from the movie “Turbo”. In typical Robertson fashion, our road trip is a bit ambitious - but should be amazing. We drop Jude off at summer camp in Black Mountain, NC tomorrow morning for three weeks and then start heading west. Thanks for...
We pulled into our site in Asheville (Asheville West KOA) and got all parked and set up. I made pizzas in the oven and we popped pop corn and watched Turbo in honor of White Shadow gaining her name. Charlie’s favorite stop is the recliner or Lucy’s top bunk. It just started raining and we’re cozy and settled in for the evening! Tomorrow is a big day for Jude! Thanks for following along.
Stu and Dustin got the shell off and then cleaned off the frame. The condition was quite rough so now it’s off to a welding shop to get it repaired. Before Stu dropped it off, they cut the plywood for the subfloor. We visited a flooring shop today to start to get a design palette together for the overall look. The frame repair should take about two weeks. A little progress day by day! Choices, choices!
Thank you for posting! Very helpful tour for learning about the functional airstream!
